HOW ACTIVE IS SEBELIUS ON SOCIAL MEDIA?

            Sebelius isn’t all over social media like most politicians. She doesn’t have a YouTube channel, she doesn’t have Facebook, or instagram. She is probably the most active on her twitter account @SecSebelius, but her last post was June of last year.  

            On all the other social media sites she is mentioned a ton such as lot’s of debates/interview videos, articles, and pictures are uploaded to YouTube all the time. On Facebook it goes about as far as Wikipedia being copy and pasted to a page you can like called “Kathleen Seblius”. 

            However, while she was active on Twitter her bio states “the official Twitter account of the former U.S. Secretary of Health and Human Services Kathleen Sebelius”. You can tell that her Twitter account is highly personalized in the fact that her posts are semi-casual. She gives shout outs to her friends, and she reaches out to the public but also reinforces her stand on policies and current issues. For example the picture below:

           Sebelius has 38.8K followers on Twitter. That could increase if she became even more involved in social media for this years election. If she reaches that many people on one form of social media just think of the people she could reach using multiple sites and sources.

          One more thing to add about her Twitter use from when she was active and holding an office, was the way she made herself more personable. She responded to the common people, favorited tweets from the common people and even on occasion would reach out. Who wouldn't want a candidate that can be professional and strong but also comes down on a level to reassure you that she is truly keeping in mind the best for our country and our people? 

A man of twitter mentions how excited he is to be in the presence  of Sebelius.

            Sebelius isn’t as active as a lot of politician’s are now days and if she gets into the social media game her image and her opportunity to become president would be even greater.

            There are always’s viral videos about candidate’s I think you could search almost any politician’s name and get a video about them. One that makes Sebelius’s image a little negative is when Jon Stewart accuses her of lying.

          After my findings on how active Sebelius is on social media I was a little let down. It’s hard now days not to see personal information coming from politicians, and she doesn’t really have that.         My plan for her in order to boost her online presence in 2016 is to get back on her Twitter because just her old posts show such positivity and leadership that you want your future president to have. If she gets a campaign team to make a Facebook and post every event she does and goes to would already begin to give her more opportunity to become president would be even greater. The Internet is the new TV.
